Good to see that myself and Lockers aren't the only young SD owners, just seems that most ppl who buy them are 40 +, no offence guys.
I m also 30 something so not all of us are grandfathers
same here , just clocked 30 a few months back
Hey,

I am just about to return to Superduke ownership after more than a year of searching for a better road bike. My verdict is that there is not one out there.
I was, I think, one of the lucky first few SD owners in the UK - I picked up my Orange SD from Powerhouse in Ashford(What happened there ? They were not THAT bad) in March 05. I had a wonderful 18 or 19 months(and about 10k miles) on her but my damn roving eye got me wondering if it was really as good as I thought.

To cut a boring story down, here I am about to p/x my current bike for a 06 Titanium bike - totally standard(one of the few, I guess), with just 2200 miles on the clock. I am kinda tempted by Gear4s' Superduke Cup bike from last season(there are so many extras I want on that bike!), but I think the standard bike makes more sense.

Anyhow, it feels good to be back, it's been a frustrating time on a variety of disappointing bikes.

Cheers !
Welcome back Sir

And what a fine choice of colour
Is that you Howard?

Hi, had a 510cc Husky 18 yrs ago and that was the only bike I had ridden until the SD arrived. Bought on a whim, although the loan required is a bit more serious I'm so pleased I did cos the bike is fecking awesome. The wife was narked, but said she enjoyed it when I finally got her on the back. She even said she liked it when we went fast

Here are a few pictures, I've had the bike about 2 weeks now, I put some new mirrors on it and will pop in a Rottweiler airbox soon. Can anyone recommend a dyno service in the Glos area?

Had my first trip out with the boys yesterday, brother in law was on another SD and our mate was on a 990 Adventure. Nipped over to Wales nice and early and it was an absolute blast
I've lurked few a few weeks and picked up some useful info and hopefully I can be part of the SD Clan.

Simon

Welcome, awesome bike in the best color!
Glad to hear your wife will get on the back, mine is too afraid still...
congrats - welcome here ---
Took my missus 5 weeks to work out that there wasnt a seat for her on the SDR... suits me fine.

Welcome to the madness. You'll find that you really need just the one wheel on this bike...
Hi everybody. I got my '07 SD 990 Orange at the end of May and just started having fun so thought a forum was in order. I've only had one other street bike, but it was a turboed '05 ZX10 pushing 265 hp and 115ft/lb torque. I must say this monster is way more fun. Thus far I've only done some swingarm and "upper" sliders followed with the Sato Racing gold bar end sliders. Love this thing. Ran into the tank size changing oddity when flushing the coolant and followed the order of the stud up front instead of the bolt. Topped it off with a wing nut and it looks fantastic. Anyways, I'm in the Seattle area for now, but moving down to central California in a week. More specifically the Lodi area.
Greetings! Welcome to the forum and to Seattle. Nice work getting the swelling tank sorted.

Welcome in Smirky.

990 or 1290?

Lots of information to be had. Don't be afraid to search as many questions have been answered before.
Welcome mate.
Welcome in!

Send me some cheese and I'll make you a mod.
Welcome!
Welcome !
Hello!

Recently bought my 2011 Superduke, based in the South West, UK.

Love the bike, the torque is addictive! Just had new Pilot Powers. Few things on the mods list that I'll be doing - ASV Levers, Evotech tail tidy (that standard thing is horrible!), LED indicators, maybe SAS block and usual airbox mods.

She seems to have a front brake issue though... grabbing is evident at low speed gradual stops, as if there's a warped disc. It's a low mileage bike so that might not be the case. Will have a good look at everything over the next few days, give it all a good clean up etc to eliminate sticky buttons, seized pistons, dodgey pads etc.

I ride most of the year, most weathers and can't wait to do some track days on the SD.

I look forward to using the forum
Welcome in!
Welcome aboard mate, whereabouts in SW England are you located? There are a few members out in that direction....
Welcome in.
Welcome
Mine is similar but not bad enough to worry about yet. It only had 21,000km on it when I got it. But under heavy front braking its not smooth.. it definitely has uneven feedback.
Its not an unknown issue from what I've seen written.
