Colonel_Klinck
Hello team, My name is Andy and I live in sunny Tauranga, New Zealand.
I am married with 3 young children, and a very understanding wife....
I currently have a KTM 520exc that I have setup as a motard bike as I use this every day to get to work and back, no matter what the weather as I refuse to take the car!!!!
It also has all the dirt gear for it as I do a fair amount of off road riding when work and family life allows.
Today, I bought an 06 (07 plate) superduke. I only paid $5500 NZD (about $4800USD) for it. it is mint with 15000 kms on it.
The reason I got it cheap is the engine is in a million bits. (cheap in New Zealand, not sure about the rest of the world...)
One of the posts that locates one of the clutch springs on the basket snapped and the spring pushed the post on to the outer cover which wore away the aluminium and clogged the filter screen. The oil light came on and the previous owner shut it down immediately.
Upon inspection at the mechanic it was discovered the only damage was a little mark on one of the big end bearings.
Doesn't really matter as the bike came with new main, big end and little end bearings / bushes plus a complete new gasket kit ( all genuine KTM parts)
I'M LAUGHING!!!
I can rebuild the engine easily enough, having done other multi cylinder bike engines.
It also came with a spare seat, pack rack and some carbon heel protectors.
Look forward to piecing it back together and riding it.
Regards
Andy.
