Hello from down under Tasmania

Hello fellow super duke hooligans!

My names Michael and i live near hobart in tasmania.

Lets just start by saying i love bikes and i love riding, it is such a big part of my life, done a few track days and enjoy a spirited ride down the coast of tasmania with my mates.

i have known about these bikes for a few years now, a good friend of mine got one a couple of years ago and swears by it!

some where in my mind i always wanted one.
recently sold my 2008 gsxr 1000 and got on the hunt for a super duke.

after many weeks of searching for a good deal i was about to make a purchaase on a standard 07 SD when a SD-R popped up for only 1000 more than i was going to spend with only 3000 KMs on it.

i jumpped on it before anyone else could.

the deal is done and it is on the way to me at the moment.

so for the last few weeks ive been looking around this forum and reading all about these awsome machines.

A sweet buy mate. I've got a 07 standard SD , I'm sure you'll love the SD-R.

I have a gsxr thou 180 RW hp track bike also. The SD is still the best fun for the road. You have some great road roads in Tas, I'd like to get back there one day!

welcome mate, i now know who to contact for a guide around tassie when i finialy decide to go there for a week of riding.

Enjoy the SDR, i have one and i love it.

The Super duke is booked in to come from perth to melbourne around mid may. from there i will be riding down to the bottom of tasmania (hobart with the misses.
she will also be collecting a new bike at the same time in melbourne.
these next few weeks are going painfully slow.
i cant handle it!!!

i have been thinking about na new home for my bike once it arrives. should i park it in the house and admire it for the first few weeks.

i dont think there are many super dukes in tasmania. i have never seen one.
i rekon down the local bike watering hole the lads will be drooling over it.

having never ridden a super duke i hope i like it.

. . . time will tell!
