hi 41ks
great dnepr.. not as quick as the sd eh .
looks great in blue yellow.
could put the side car on the sd if you still have it , however don't expect many takers for a passenger ride eh .
i was taken for a ride last year in a ural and could not believe how much it pulled towards the side car..fun though.

White ones are fastest. Tell me about it My first ride on my white SD was at 29*F. It was at least 14 years from my last ride on whatever bike. I did'nt know that 29*F is -1,6*C, I presumed it must be much warmer. lImagine this: I had my visor foggy at first breath, still continued the ride. Outside the town some cars was in front of me at 90km/h speed. It was getting dark. Shitty bumpy roads. Visor in full fog, visibility 10% or 20% or so - and it was my first ever time to roll the SD throttle up - JESUS that passing speed felt extreme. I was instinctively on the bars to avoid wheelies. Having nearly zero bike sensation and doing this again and again was addictive (=mixed fear and exitement). I repeated these passings that evening more and more, until I was back after an hour in total dark and did not feel my fingers anymore because of cold. Yeah IT WAS fast for me at that evening... I confess, did not wanted to see or think about bike at least three days after that

I have never felt it so fast thereafter however Have to find some technical roads to ride, actually considering to move me with the bike to Spain therefore...

Hi everyone,

Finally after creating a new mailbox, several emails to the admin I got myself approved.
This must have been the most difficult board to become a member on

Anyhow I am new to motorcycling, from a country called Estonia, located in Eastern Europe.
The reason which brought me to this board is that I bought myself my first bike . A new KTM superduke 990R ! 2013 year model, has not been registered yet as we have winter here at the moment.

I was choosing between the Honda CB1000R and the Superduke 990R. As I am quite tall (1.93m), I felt more comfortable on the duke with its higher seating position, I did like the softer suspension and the ABS on the Honda which should benefit beginner drivers but in the end opted for the Duke. Haven't driven it yet, so we will see if I did the right decision once summer comes my current knowledge is based on reviews and feedback from other owners. My friend has a CB1000R, he likes it a lot, but I just couldn't have the same bike as he has

The Superduke 990R is completely new and sat at the local KTM dealer, so just had to take it as there are no new ones available anymore. It came with 2 years warranty.
Allready ordered the crash protection bundle from GBracing, waiting for it to arrive.

And the compulsory picture of my new toy:

Welcome.

That's going to be quite a FIRST bike!

Have you had any riding experience. If no or very limited then take it a bit easy to start with.

Have fun.

Welcome aboard! Wise to leave the bike where it is for now, wait until the spring arrives before taking her out. How good are the roads in Estonia?
Take it easy when you start out, it's a lovely bike but it will bite you hard if you don't show it enough respect
If you ever meet the racer Marko Rohtlaan please say hi from Scotty at Phase One Endurance

Welcome in!

Interesting to see that a 'new' SDR offered with the 2 seat conversion already done. Many members here, including me, try to get the two seat conversion and have the choice to change the bike around.

Lot's of information to be had in this forum. Don't be afraid to search as many questions have been answered before.

Ride safe,

Thanks for the warm welcome guys. I did read that the SuperDuke 990R is not the best bike for a beginner rider, then again I bought it for a longer period of time so hoping to gain my knowledge and experience riding it.

The only bike I have ridden couple of times is the CBR1100 Blackbird, but that is a completely different machine.

Roads are good in Estonia, only the traffic rules are very strict and the speed limits low - slow speeds.

I am thinking getting heated grips, so will have a search around here what is recommended.
