where did you find an r model ? iv'e got a 950 sm and thinking of selling it for a sd,but dont have the cash to do what your doing to yours,im in azusa
I'm in South Orange Curtain (Laguna).

Ordered the bike a couple weeks ago through Three Brothers Racing in Costa Mesa, California.

I had all the mods planned and ordered when I bought the bike. Yes, Christmas came early.

I've had my eye on the SDR for quite some time. Been reading and learning in this forum. Such a great resource. I really enjoy wrenching and the SDR seemed like it would be fun to ride and fun and easy to work with.

You can sense KTM's dirt bike background when you tear into the bike. This is one beefy bike. The air box design is odd but the Motobox will take care of that. The battery placement is also odd, but I guess it's better down low than up high. And that catalytic converter, the definition of heavy, wow! I know there are a lot of complaints about the snatchy throttle and it does seem a bit abrupt off idle but I'm hoping the mods might smooth things out a bit. But my other bike is an MV Agusta Brutale 910r and it's a bit of an all or nothing in the fueling department as well... but a custom ECU has fixed that recently.

Anyway, I'm still hoping this thing fires when I get everything back together. Changing so many things at one, not so bright, but I've followed forum directions to a T, so hopefully all will be well!!!
I think after the motobox and mapping you won't want the g2 throttle cam anymore, or at most you'll want their 200 cam. Once the o2 sensors are gone and the new map is in, the stock cam is pure WAAAAAAMPH!

Good day all! Although I am new to KTM's, I am not new to riding. 30+ years behind bars (I am 36), and between my wife and I, this makes bike #10! Secret to a long relationship is marry a woman that rides ahahah. Our biggest argument is not IF either can buy a bike, but who gets to haha

I purchased a brand-new, 2008 SD and have only managed 4 miles on it as it is raining every weekend here

I am, and have been, in love with the SD ever since I test-rode one in 2007. Unbelieveable bike...truly.

I will have pictures up soon, although its still stock for now.

I bought the matte black one..

Thanks!
Miles

Hello all! My name is Alvin and I'm a long time Duke/SuperDuke fan, former (Grant Langston's) Duke II owner and new to a 2008 ex-demo SDR. I apologize and thank everyone in advance for any stupid questions I plan on asking in the near future. For the record, screen name is what I've used on forums (mostly lurking) for years and comes from a fairly well-know Ducati Monster I own that was dubbed the Terminator. I'm located in Ventura County, just north of Los Angeles.
Welcome bro. You're joining in with a pretty good lot, as I've found out. Enjoy.
Howdy neighbor. Welcome to the madness.
