hi all,

just joined here as i just picked up my 2007 SD and am keen to learn a bit more about it. its only my second ever roadbike (i had a 2001 r6 before this). im 21.

i live about 2.5hrs east of melbourne so my closest track is phillip island. not really a track suited to the SD but i'll definitely be going down there to test it out. have already swapped the handlebars out for a set of renthal twinwalls bend 999. bike came with round akra slip ons plus some crash protection. the bike eats rear tyres though, only got 2500km from a dunlop roadsmart but the vtwin grunt will do that.

im definitely going to change the gearing to something shorter for the street, and the bike has a few stalling issues which might mean the wrong map is uploaded (but i dunno how to check).

anyway, site has been handy so far.

cheers
Welcome
Welcome...check stalling ..can be just a simple thing like the clutch switch Under the lever that needs bending out
welcome brother SD'er
Welcome to the madness Buddy.
Welcome.

Philip Island not really suited to SD's !!! Excuse me - one of the best tracks in the world and not really suited to the SD!!! Check out all the brake lights on the ILF's at Philip Island (lit up like Blackpool on a Saturday night). Get out there an show the screamers what a real bike sounds like and can do in the corners.

Anyway enjoy
Welcome mate.

welcome fellow Aussie!
Hey everyone my name is Nick from the Gold Coast in qld Australia and I recently purchased a wicked 2008 Ktm 990 superduke setup for racing I've done a trackday and one race weekend so far and loving it I'm currently in the middle of setting up suspension and testing that just springs so far already has gold valves in the front can't wait to chew your ears off with questions

Need to buy some Race fairings and get the paint job finalised exciting times!

By the way how do you attatch photos
Welcome comrade Jupey: Sounds like a nice plan. These bikes won't keep up with the IL4's but you should be able to embarrass them in the corners.
All is explained if you chew the corners off that search button on the menu.
Yeah first race weekend was against superbike bloody tough haha especially at Queensland raceway haha

Welcome aboard Jupey. If you havn't already, give it a run at Morgan Park. Perfect track for the SD and a whole lot less boring than the paper clip at QR.
welcome from up north!
Cheers guys and yeah Morgan park is definitely on the cards! I raced supermoto out there for the last couple of years
