I'm planning to be a Super Duke owner in the very near future, as I have several bikes at present, and one of them doesn't get ridden nearly as often as it should, so I'm selling it and will replace it with a SD. Hopefully this will happen very soon, as I'm hot for the SD. Looking forward to getting lots of good information from this board.

#11The Guzzi is gone, so now actively searching for a SD. If anyone in my geographic area has one they're wanting to get rid of, let me know.

#12Sounds good...I'm Bob (Katoom) and I have Tim (Ktim) coming along with me. Look forward to meeting you guys tomorrow morning. Should be an awesome day for a ride.

#13Well, I guess we missed you guys somehow...got to Coco's and waited until 9AM but never saw you. We'll have to try again. Did the ACH run and it was alright. Lot's of road construction and closures though. Had to find our way up the mountain. Some long sections with a lot of new slurry...that stuff makes me nervous. Newcombs was really nice...perfect weather. Tried to head further up but another closure about 3 miles up the road toward Wrightwood so turned around. All in all a good ride but I hope they hurry up and finish all the road work. Oh, and no smokeys to speak of except townards the bottom on the way out.

#14Hi guys!
I'm another new member from so cal. Missed your ride by a day as I picked up a new orange '07 on Sat. afternoon and had a nice mellow ride on the crest on Sun. This bike is great, haven't stopped smiling since the first ride

Lot's of good info on this forum, glad to have found it!
See you around!

#16I recognize that view behind Mike's new SD! Weekend at Newcombs was just ideal weather.

#17Sorry I missed you guys last weekend, but I was in San Francisco for my birthday. Anyway, I'm riding up to Newcomb's with some friends today on the reopening of the front half of ACH. Will likely ride again on Sunday if anyone is interested.

#20Got a hall pass from the wife and did ACH today. Open all the way up for the first time this year! Still some slurry in sections and a one lane signaled section but not too bad. Was really foggy first thing this morning until we got up high then it warmed and sunnied up. Not too busy at Newcomb's...but way more than last Saturday. Nioce to meet you Carl who posted up last week...just got his new 07 SD from Bert's...looks great! 3 of us at Newcombs...almost enough for a Superduke club! After breakfast we tooled up the the tunnels...some dirt and new pavement but fun.
But...fricking cops all over the place. A few guys got hit today for sure. Really takes some of the fun out of the ride. Again, it's the first open day so maybe it will calm down but they just aren't cool. One of our buddies got a ticket for a track tyre on his bike at the Shell station after the ride getting gas! WTF. That's BS.

#21Hi, It was good to meet you guys yesterday!
I went up ACH for another looks this morning and Newcomb's was packed! Haven't seen that many bikes up there in a while. Also lots of LEO presence like yesterday. Maybe the re-opening @ the bottom isn't such a good thing, haha. It was a nice mellow ride any way.
Thanks, and see you guys around!
Carl.

#22Which one were you on, Carl? I was on the white SD parked near the black/grey and the SD-R under the tree. Were one of those yours? I was one of the many unfortunates who got a ticket on the way up.

#23Hi Stmike! I'm riding a stock orange bike, was parked near the front. I didn't see any other sdukes @ Newcomb's while I was up there today.
Were you by any chance headed up around 10:30? I did see a couple of SD's riding up while I was headed down.
Plenty of tickets being given out up there over the last couple of weeks .
Cheers,
Carl.

#24By the way, there's a short article on the front page of the LA Times today about the reopening of Angeles Crest. If you take a look at the photo on the inside continuation you can see my bike in front of newcombs. Man that ORANGE really stands out in a crowd
Woohoo! My bike is trivially famous

#26I read the article this morning, Carl, and did see the flash of orange in the pic. I probably arrived at Newcomb's around 10:00 this morning, but didn't see your bike.
Hi Ken. Y'know, there are enough of us that we should probably plan a superduke rampage sometime.

#28Looks like Next Sunday is my hall pass day for ACH (Saturday will be tied up with honey-do's). I have a buddy on a very nice Aprillia RSV4 that may ride up with me...or way in front of me as he's pretty fast. Maybe I'll send him ahead as a chipper locater! Happy to meet any and all at the Shell sation at the bottom probably around 9AM (exact time to be determined). Happy trails.
Post 29 by Katoom,
#29I could be up for that....

#30Sounds like fun, I was hoping to head up again this weekend as well so I might see you there!
Post 31 by MADDOG53,
#31I'll definitely be up again this weekend (despite the ticket I got from the very heavily patrolled road last weekend). I just ordered the components to make the tune ecu cable, but I doubt they'll all be here in time for this weekend's ride. I'll post when I get them and maybe we can do a group mapping session.

#32Saw a couple of Dukes going down the hill about that time...maybe we passed you. Oh well.

#33Too bad we missed ya, shakes. We had an awesome ride through the tunnels & down to Pearblossom.

#34Did Angeles Crest Highway today with Ktim. WTF..."Kalifornia" CHP's were everywhere. We spotted at least 10 on the way up and way down. I heard they got some funding to patrol ACH for the full summer? 2 motorcycle cops and the rest were cars. Just rediculous how many there were. Tim's been riding it for years and said he'd never seen it like that before. Newcomb's was deserted. I guess everyone is avoiding ACH and riding elsewhere. I hope this crap ends soon!
