I'm waitng for my new 2008 orange SD to arrive so in the interim I'm racking up seat time with the search feature on this site. Much to learn.
I wasn't planning on buying a SD but have been closing in on my next bike for the past year or so. (I presently ride a semi-motarded 2007 DR650. Great for dirt roads that are in abundance in my neck of the woods.)
There are many good bikes to choose for one reason or another but I wanted performance and something a little out of the ordinary.
The price was the clincher ($8700).
Plus 118 HP and 410 lbs without fuel has a nice ring to it.
After reading road tests and personal experiences from SD owners it was pretty much a no brainer.
I bought the SD without ever seeing or sitting on one. Go figure.
