#5Hello I take delivery of my 2015 Super Duke tomorrow, can't wait. It came down to the KTM and the BMW S1000R. My sense is the BMW was the more practical, better all around choice, heated grips, electronic suspension and even cruise control. At the end of the day its a great bike but it just did not get my blood flowing the way the SDR did. I've got a Austin Racing exhaust, tail tidy and heated grips on order.

#6Welcome!
I did test rode the beemer also and came to the same conclusion. The beemer is also a fantastic bike and to its credit the electronics are better, but it doesn't tickle the loins so to speak as the SDR

#11Hey dude. Welcome.
I traded in my 06 for a black 15 and should be arriving next weekend. Too much of excitement.
Which AR exhaust did you go for? I'm torn between the GP3 V3 and GP2. On the one hand I love loud, but also want to do some track days so need it to be a little sensible and on the lighter side of 105 dB. Right now I'm leaning towards the V3. But then again, black or titanium?

#15After a brand new 1290 the priority is:
1 - ride till the break in period is done already!!! ( hopefully the current reality )
2 - stop by the roadside to torque the wheel nut to 250nm
3 - take pics for instagram/fbook other media

#16Welcome.
I too considered the S1000RR but another 4 cylinder sports bike just didn't do it for me. Yes it's super fast and full of trickery, but just doesn't have the soul of the SDR, but then you all know that anyway!!
