Hi all, new member from Frimley Green, Surrey
I have an 06 reg Titanium Superduke, does anyone know a company that will supply an aftermarket hugger that is longer than the standard fit.
Cheers

Welcome to the forum Baggieman

Good question youv'e asked there as i don't think anyone else has asked that yet. I definately haven't seen any aftermarket huggers available.

Hi Guys,

Picking this up on Sunday

Image

'06 model SD with Akra slip ons, 6k miles £4k

Took a '09 out from the local dealers about a month ago after having had enough of Sports bikes, but was after something with plenty of go.

Had a Benelli Tornado previously and always had sports bikes, GSXRs and the like. Had a SP1 before the Benelli and loved the V twin experience, so think i made the right choice.

Many thanks to Weeksy for spotting this, had the cash sat in a drawer for a couple of weeks and was getting pissed off with ebay.

Already had a look at the mods list and a 16T front sprocket will be the 1st one on the to-do list. Dropped a tooth on the Benelli and is such a great mod.

Anything i need to check over when i pick it up on Sun?

I have read about the brake issues but they're exactly the same setup the benelli had and there's not been any issues with those, except i managed to warp the discs in 3000 miles.

I've read a couple of posts about the oil sight tubes splitting, is this an easy fix/check?

Cheers

Jazzy

Don't have a 990 yet, but I'm hungry for one and will be starting my search soon. I've been riding for 5 years now and currently I'm on a 2009 GSXR 750, I need a change in pace and am hoping a V-Twin will satisfy that urge of mine. I really want to make the switch from a peak horsepower ride to having the bottom end torque of a twin. I'l likely be asking a few questions around here over the next while, until I get myself a Duke in the garage.
MADDOG53

Welcome man. My first bike was a 2008 gsxr 600 which had a 750 swapped into it. Always loved that thing. I still have an 04 750 nd don't plan on getting rid of it anytime soon, 750's are great bikes. The superduke is just a shitload more fun to ride though haha, GL finding one!

Thanks for the welcome everyone, looks like this is a pretty active forum and that's always promising (even better is the lack of attitude found on most sportbike forums!). I need to start doing some research on what to expect with these gorgeous machines, it's hard enough to find one for sale that I can take for a spin.
BassAgent

BassAgent

Welcome. There's plenty out there for sale, I have a bad habit of snatching up the best deals though. Twins are the way to go unless you don't like wheelies.

Biggest problem is I still have to sell my GSXR first! Now... anyone looking for a 750?

Hi.
I am a new member of the Superduke club, I have owned a KTM 950 Adv in the in past and my mate had a superduke 990s and I remember riding it and really enjoying it (except for the throttle) and decided that its time for a Sunday blast bike. I saw this at a dealer and was a reasonable price and in very good standard condition. I've only done 130 miles but I'm very happy with it, well I was right up to the point where it blew a coolant hose off and dumped it over my right leg so its back there for a repair. I had a chance to plug in the tune ECU cable and check out the map etc and I'm impressed with the program. The only stumbling block I've run into is trying to fit my HM quickshifter from my YZF750 onto it, I don't know how to wire in the 3 wire coils and it seems to be impossible to find a solution on Google. I've Emailed HM and they said use the KTM loom but that's for the 2 wire jobbies.

Cant wait for the bike to be returned and then the weather to warm up for a decent blast.

Junk the sock pipes and some bar end mirrors and its a perfect bike. Well for me anyway.
Someone here should be able to help you out with the QS.

Anyway welcome.

The missus bought me a set of GPR cans for Xmas (she's a keeper) so hopefully they will be on soon, I'm based in U.K. East coast, Thanks for the link No47 I'll have a gander when I get a minute and yes its an 08 model.

Well it's not going well for me and this bike! After a "spirited" ride the other day I noticed the bottom end was rumbling a bit when I got home, so dropped the bike back at the dealers and they have stripped it and the crank/rods are fooked!

He reckons its run dry for a second, I always keep the oil at least half on the tube but he says it needs to be full all the time (could of told me that when I bought it). Anyway he's footing the bill for the labour to strip rebuild it so I suppose I cant complain too much but he wants over £1400 for the parts which I can no way afford.
I've found some R rods and there a few cranks on Ebay but can anyone tell me if there is a difference between the R crank and non R and if there is would a standard Superduke crank fit?

Thanks.

I have a spare complete bottom half only engine as a result of two dropped valves on my original no.1 SDR.

Actually, the dealer should be paying for the lot surely, assuming there’s an appropriate warranty, and his oil level comment (attempted get out?) is nonsense as it’s a dry sump engine.
