New SD owner

Forum newbie here! Got my new 2008 990 Super Duke Saturday! Great machine! Decided on the SD instead of a Ducati 1100s - my first non Japanese bike since 1969 (had a Bultaco Pursang).

I live in the West Virginia mountains - twisty mountain roads galore. The Duke really pulls and handles wonderfully. Bike fits nice in my stable of other bikes - a 2009 Yamaha R1; 2008 Kawasaki C14; 2006 Yamaha FZ1.

The FZ1 (and I) took one for the team two weeks ago - deer clipped front wheel and down we went- Totaled - settlement was used wisely - down payment on the Duke - FZ1 will still be around, however - I'm rebuilding it - it is my wife's favorite bike (although she is starting to warm up to the C14) She refuses to even get on the R1 or the Duke...but at least she's a sport on the other two bikes.

Hi all. Just got my new 08 SD Black on the 16th. I have owned lots of bikes before but this is my first twin. All I can say is wow. This thing makes me laugh every time I take off .
