Hey fellas,

A week ago I became the proud owner of a 2010 SuperDuke 990 in black. Previously I owned a Kawasaki Z1000 but wrote it off. Always loved the SD's so took the opportunity to finally own one.

I'm big into modding my bikes, my zed had thousands into it and I plan to do the same with my SD. So far I've upgraded the cans from standard to yoshi carbons. I've upgraded the levers and fitted some Rizoma bar end mirrors. Next will be upgrading the indies with Rizoma ones. At the moment I think the bikes mental so I won't be looking at any sort of tuning yet.
Hello mate,

Welcome. Glad to see we're still getting new 990 owners coming into the fold.
Sounds like you're enjoying it. How does it compare to your Z?
Where in the UK are you?
I'm in Teesside mate, just outside of Middlesbrough.

It's a total different animal to the zed. I didn't test ride the 990 I just bought it from looks and reputation and it's a unique ride that's for sure. I'm just taking it easy at the moment, feeling her out. It's very snatchy and the power is savage, it'll take some getting used too. I came off my zed doing 80mph on a bend so I'm still nervous but I'll get there.
Get some rim tape and stickers for it, then post photos for the benefit of our resident curmudgeon Bic
Welcome aboard, yes replacing the OEM cans is a given. First thing I did anyways
Another new member here from the UK as well. PIcked up an 11 plate 990 SDR which already had rim tape on it but no stickers

Loving this bike. Came from a 98 R1.

The sound from those Akras.......
Welcome to the forum, albeit hijacked this thread
