Soon to be SD owner!

Hi all, tomorrow I shall be putting a deposit on a new (06) SD so I thought I'd say hello! I've got here from an SP1 via an MT-03 (thought I could live with the smaller capacity but was sadly deluded!) I was fed up with neck/back/wrist ache from the SP1 so now am looking forward to comfy big V twin power! On the test ride I was amazed at how smooth the engine was compared to the SP. Can't wait! Great forum BTW.

Cheers! good to have you on board

Check out the Modifications section.. there are a few must do's.. ge teh dealer to fit you the 16T sprocket and grab a hold of a set of can's if you can afford it.

What do you think of the MT? That was one of my considerations... the capacity was not an issue but the unadjustable suspension was. Any comments would be good!

I like the quirky style of the MT but I'm afraid that's as far as it goes. Quite a buzzy engine and only 45 hp. I was constantly trying to hook the non existant 6th gear! Handling's ok on the smooth stuff but gets twitchy on bumps - the bars are really wide! Forget dual carriageways too. not enough ground clearance either. I've only covered 860 miles on it.
Does fitting a 16t sprocket to the SD put the speedo out at all?

Greetings,
did the SP(2) thing myself on the way to the SD. Far happier with the ktm. I'm sure you will be too.

What did you think of the TNT? I am very tempted but there aren't any locally for me to try.
