This is the Netherlands calling ...

A warm, err, cold and wet hello from the Netherlands. I just joined this forum after recently buying a Superduke.

I'm an old bloke already, but never lost interest in motorcycles. Since I was 18 years old, a very very (did I already say very?) long time ago, I have had a bike. Started with a Honda 400N. Had to take it to the junkyard after the crank broke. Then bought a Honda CB750F Bol D'Or. Had to sell it when I needed money for my study (something needs to remind me I studied ). Once I had a job I jumped ship to Yamaha and purchased a FZR 1000. Had that in my possession for many years ... and many crashes (2 to be precisely). The last crash it was actually totaled. So, replaced it by Honda again. This time a Fireblade. Although a nice bike, it was the beginning of the end ... for full fairing, cramped up, racing bikes. I found out that I'm getting too old for these bikes. My body can't recover anymore after riding for a few hours in a yoga position.

Looking for a street fighter/monster type of bike I ran into a Superduke. That was almost a year ago. It stole my heart. I was in love
Couldn't sleep anymore. Had to think about it every day. Started reading into it and, and ... well, some of you might know the drill.

Then autumn came. And with autumn the bike goes to winter mode (sleeping). So did my hunt for a nice Superduke. Untill my eye got caught by this perfect bike (for me). Ouch, way too expensive. But again, I couldn't sleep anymore. Had to look at it every minute of the day. I started drooling when looking at the pictures. I had to have it. So a few weeks later I called the guy and said I just wanted to have a look at it. Yeah, right, just have a look ... aha ...

Well, the result is what you'd expect. I bought it (luckily a little bit cheaper than the asking price). Unfortunately it's cold and wet now over here. But I couldn't resist and had to take her (or him?) out for a ride. Man, was I smiling from ear to ear behind that visor. This is awesome. I still can't believe what a difference a bike makes

Ok, enough about that. The Superduke is a 2005 model. Has a R kit and many other enhancements. 124BHP on the rear wheel (dyno tested) and 110Nm of torque. tyres are Metzeler Racetec, but are worn out. Not sure by what to replace, but still have time to decide and look around on this forum. I'm sure the bike will give me a lot of joy once the good weather starts to kick in. Hope to be able to share my passion with all you other gear heads and freaks on this forum

Over and out for now.

And here's the dyno result. Compared to my blade, I especially like the torque graph, already > 70Nm @ 3000RPM
