Up in the midwest...

Hello fellow riders, I'm from Oklahoma. I don't yet have a superduke but l narrowed my choices down to either the speed triple or the superduke 990 (Superduke wins). I am a former sportbike rider (Gxsr 750) and l feel that streetfighters maximize the experience on the road. I recently lost out on a purchase for a White 2008 Superduke and didn't realise these things move fast even with KTM not importing them. I think l may have to wait for the 1290 down the road but don't want to be a first generation beta tester.

Welcome to the nuthouse. I would venture that if you cn hold off a little bit then some prime SD990 will become available as the new 1290s roll out

Since when is OK in the "midwest"?

No shortage of good used SDs around. Buy a cheap seat, fly out, and ride it home - before it gets too cold. Be sure to wring its neck frequently on the journey.

Yeah Oklahoma is not down south... Texans will affirm that. I have lurked for a short while and found the differences between the models. Your right l should start seeing some good deals once the 1290 hits the streets. Although l did find another 2008 SD with only 1500 miles for 8 grand...(fingers crossed).

I think you will find that when the 1290 comes out 990 prices will be lower than usual for around 12 months but will then go up again and stabilize.
Ive seen this time and again when a new model comes out.
Also the fueling on the speed triple 07 up is excellent.

Gday young fella
The 1290 might be that successful that every one will have one so the old SD might just end up a collector's

Talking about old. I had my bike parked at the shop and this old timer started talking to me about the bike he was telling me that he used to race and still has a bike at home but doesn't ride anymore as he is in his 70's.
So it got me thinking what age is to old to ride?
