05-06 Vs 07-09 SD brakes and steering

So having recently changed from an 05/06 model to an 07/08/09 model SD990 (via, I'm ashamed to say a Ducati S4RS ) I notice there is a fair bit of difference in the feel of brakes and steering. Not a surprise, I hear you say...

Ok, steering first - one half of one degree less angle and different offset to keep wheelbase the same (not sure of this figure) and the bike seems less flickable. No more stable, just less eager to flick on her ear. Anyone found a sensible setup to return this characteristic?

Brakes - hmmm, setting myself up for an absolute slating here... but... I preferred the old 05/06 brakes! They seemed much more powerful, with better (more aggressive) initial bite. Strange as they were conventional and they are now RADIAL. Also, the four pad setup of the new ones should, theoretically improve bite (eight leading edges).

Any thoughts?

Anyone else got direct early/late model experience?

How many miles/km's are on it?

Both the suspension and brakes need to bed in before there at there best.

I think the 07 is pretty low at the back as standard (although I'm a fat lad!)
