The bike runs really well now. I may have felt a very slight dip at 4K while riding it home from the dealer yesterday but that's it. The fueling is good with plenty of horsepower and a solid linear torque curve. The off idle, snatchiness, lunging, lurching whatever you want to call it is far better than it was. Imo people need to realise that part of the problem has to do with the SD/SDR being a twin but I think it's a good as any twin I've owned. I think my bike, engine wise is dialed. Since have to get sag set and a few screws turned with the suspension and I'll be good to go...

#3I hate to be a party pooper, but give it 200 - 300 miles and see if it still runs as cleanly. In my experience they end up as snatchy as before - then you reset the ECU and they are fine again.....for a while!
So far the best 'cure' for snatchiness I have found is a combination of 3 things;
1. remove the O2 sensors and replace with Eliminators (get 'em from Dynojet for about £30)
2. reset the ECU
3. fit a ramped throttle cam

#7I too am finding the 2031 map smooooth - but then I've only ridden it 45 miles home from the dealer.
One way to find out if this map disables the 02 sensors is to unplug a sensor & turn the ignition on - see if you get an FI warning light. I will try this in the next few days & let ya know.
Re the O2 eliminators - just got a PCIII meself, not fitted yet, but I read the following instructions re the O2 eliminators:
The installation of the O2 eliminators will allow full control over your entire fuel curve. Without the eliminators installed you will not be able to adjust the fuel curve under 3000rpm and under 10% throttle.
Which concurrs with Plipton's findings
