Just come back from HMRacing who did a fantastic job on the dyno to make me a custom map. I thought it was pretty good fueling before but now it's even better. Max HP gone from 115.08 to 121.26 and max torque increased from 70.74 to 74.22. This seems totally consistent with what others have got from the Motobox so result Another satisfied customer for Motohooligan. Dave at HM was very interested in the Motobox so I think he might be getting in touch with the man.

I'll scan in the charts at work tomorrow and post them up. Best bit is the flat line for the A/F on each and every gear - best I've seen. They really did a good job.

Also got them to set up the suspension, cost £80 but worth it. They set up front and rear shock, (sag was way too much - I have put on weight ) and then swapped out that one and fitted the ex Dave Hill race shock I got off ebay and set that one up for me too. It makes a big difference - the rear ride height is about 15mm higher than I had and the spring is stiffer so actually it's better for my weight. Harder to get my toes on the ground though! On ride home it started raining so not really tested out yet but expect that it will turn in a lot quicker. Maybe now I will definitely get a steering damper though.

Can't recommend HMRacing highly enough. Very friendly, very informative - told you everything they were doing and explained it well. Didn't make me feel like an amateur even though they are usually dealing with pukka racers. Nice experience. £165.00 for the dyno and map which seems good value considering it took the best part of two hours.

Thats a mighty fine BHP figure for a slower 07 bike
Nice one Bic, I also told the guy over at the HM quickshifter office about the motobox, but he didn't say much about it other than he said they'd managed to get 130bhp out of their racing superduke already but not sure which model it is they're running.

Nice to know they liked what they saw.

How much did you get at 8000rpm as that seems to be the biggest gains people have seen.

Great post!

You are fortunate to have someone knowledgeable close to help out.

121 horses on a bike with a great suspention, very comfortabel to ride, and loks as tough as yours.... Doesn't get any better than that.

Anyone in the states have any experence with the Motobox?
feeling pretty gutted with my 115.9 bhp now is that at the wheel and what other mods have u done cos im sure them 07 bikes aint that quick specially the black ones
hm racing are like cresent suzuki they like to keep their customers happy with the bhp figures.........lol
the shock you bought of ebay, is it of a sdr?

Brilliant result. I want to see that flat curve!
OK, here are my charts.

Blue line is first run with the bike as it was when I took it in. As you can see it wasn't too bad but a bit rich with only the Akra/ECU map running. After mapping there is a steady improvement in HP right to the end. I was a bit surprised because I've seen quite a lot of maps on this forum and often they show a better increase around 8,000 but I don't mind it the way it's turned out. I wanted no dips and peaks and that's what I got. It certainly pulls and pulls right up to the red line now, you can feel it howling.

Haven't had a chance to really ride it except back home and it started raining so I had to delay the A road and twisty road testing but on the main roads it is a smoother, crisper ride - I'd say the fueling is perfect - but it was good before anyway. I've got peace of mind now though.

Oh, they said that mapping both cylinders separately was not something they thought worthwhile. They would have done it but their response was that they prepped race winners with a single map and if that was good enough for the racers then................

Spec. is '07 SD with round Akras, (shortened by 40mm, baffles removed), Motobox, SAS removed, O2 eliminators, PC111, 2nd,3rd gear de-restriction wiring mod.

Here is the chart that HMRacing say is more important because it shows that each gear has been mapped for the best line and that the A/F mix is optimum for every gear at every throttle opening. Who am I to argue.

Cool, I rekon the motobox is good for 5-7 horses, would have been interested to see a before and after chart with that.
