I just received my October issue of Motorcyclist and the 1290 has won their MOTY. So that and a $5 will get u a cup of coffee at Starbucks.

#2Cool and I am sure it is well deserved. The 990 won the award in 2007. I'm pretty sure you can find many a 1290 SD in the Starbuck's parking lot with many of the owners holding a seven dollar cup and waxing ad infinitum about their new dongles and hubs.

#6That makes two for what it's worth. motorcycle.com also awarded the 1290 SD bike of the year along with best "Hooligan/Streetfighter". They went on to say it's one of the best bikes they've ever tested period. Of course, I still have yet to even test ride the new 1290!
