1290 sdr mirrors

Hi

Anyone know if it's possible to remove the mirror head from the stalk, I have tried to undo the torx screw but the screw will not undo. If I apply anymore force I'll snap the torx tool.
Does it undo?

Yes, it will undo. I used a torx socket that came as a set from Craftsman tools.
