Hi have been reading this site for about a year and am saving hard for an sd. I rode a 2007 model and loved it but is it really worth £2000 more than a 2006? Anybody ridden both any thoughts?
2006 or 2007 sd

#2Hello Sid and welcome to the site ,I have riden both ,loved the estheticks of the 06 model in Orange , to the black and orange of the 07 , so I whent for the 06 ,
I did not like the sutel ditale changes of the 07 ,like the plastick heel gards , cheaper clocks ,les wind deflexshon on the 07 , but you can buy a gay touring skreen for it (ducks and hides for cover) , tank range is a bit of a drarma for some but I allways youst to fill up ,between 85to 100 miles eney way with my larst bike so it dose not bother me
the 07 has got a 3;LTr bigger tank ,iff I had this I wood still fill up at a 100' miles ,and buying the 06 left me with a bit of cash to fit the Akras as well as uther little sutle tweeks , its allso rowmerd that the 07 bikes becose of the amishons changes and tweeks to the 07 engin it is down a few BHP compaird to the 06 models ,ttfn Mark .
I knoe uthers will beg to differ ,becose they like the 07 ,wich is kool ,becose iff we all liked the same thing on here it wood be prity borring .
have you seen the all black speshole adishon SD'06 Battals that are being sold at the minit ,its a bit a highbred cross of the 06'07, and the SD'R , With Akras as standed .

#4Hi I just bought an 07 exdemo 100 miles on the clock, once haggled down the price was too good to miss out on,i bought an 07 because i just know i would have been kicking myself later if i hadn't, sad but true

#5Sid, They are both excellent, however having owned an 06 and putting a few miles on an 07 i felt that the 06 was a little more highly strung and intense. But in saying that, the 07 was a demo bike with a few miles on it ( I'm sure thay were hard miles). I'd suggest that you ride both if possible and make your own decision either way you won't make a bad one.

#6My dealer says he prefers the 06 with the smaller tank as it feels more part of the rider and sporty than the larger tanked 07.
Radials look cool but are no better than the 06 Brembo's. I prefer the clocks on the 07 bikes. They look so much better than the earlier clocks, more up to date and inline with the best Ducati and Jap clocks.
I'd have loved an 07 but I'm not sure they are worth the premium. My plan was to see how well \i get on with an 06 for this summer and upgrade for 09.
