2008 SDR Rebuild

Well I've been away for a little with some life mishaps, but now I have a project or two to occupy me.
I am trying to rebuild this bad boy out of parts in the shed.


I have now got it back fron the painter and and trying to fight the urge to split the engine...


I think I may need discs and various other bits like a radiator, so any help would be appreciated.
Also opinions are welcome...
It's been a while but did I see a 1290 style headlamp for one of these around?

Let me know what you need - I have spare tank, seat base, radiator, swing arm, sub-frame, forks, shock, Akra pipes and exhausts, etc which I may be persuaded to let go for a good cause.........

Suggest you rebuild top end at least given my experience twice of dropped valves.

May be this?

Boy, that Spirit bike just looks right to my eye.

As for now I will be going for a more sedate build.
If I can complete it on time and budget, I have a spare Motor and some parts to do my own custom build I've been thinking about for a few years now.
Thanks for the offer No.47! I just read through your threads and I think a top end build is in it for sure.

This is just a build from a repair, I would like to ride it.
Racing has taken a backseat as finances took over... Damn adult crap.

Well life is insane but I seem to have peiced some of it together.
Missing a few important things like:
Dash
Dash mount
Underseat Stay
Headlight mask mounting pivot pins
One radiator bolt!

Dash - have a few dead SD/SDR dash units that may/may not be repairable - is yours a '08 full fat SDR or late registered '07 SDR with SD engine?

Dash mount - can't help there

Underseat Stay - assume you mean tray - ditto

Pivot pins - have a couple of those but assume your budget extends to buying new.........

Radiator bolts - ditto.

Cheers for the offer mate. By underseat stay, I mean the u shaped piece of aluminium that supports the seat near the tank.
I also need a front fender!
I'll take whatever you have mate, even the bolts if you have them.

Have spare fender but postage will be expensive......

Need to know which dash you need 'cos full SDR engine has higher redline than SD engine.
