Maybe this is nice - SD motor in a Multistrada-like Touring supermoto.

KTM rules.
Go to http://ktmimages.com/ (archive) to D/L LARGE examples of these (and any other current/new KTM).

And the new SDR's new look.

And the new Adventure R (check the suspension diff. on the R & the normal).

And who can ignore the old bag, the RC8-R (questionable rim stripes, however...)

I'm liking the SMT. I hope they don't do something daft with it like KTM usually do with a new bike and pop on a small sub-100mile tank. Agree with the anti-white brigade...but that's just rolling with the fashion times and maybe a little unnecessary in KTMs 'Orange' world. Unless they want to shift some more RC8s to the fashion concious Ducati people. I hope their racing colours (when they finally go into AMA/WSBK) are just plain traditional factory.

Not enough people like you & me who would know what to do with an RC4.
Most of America doesn't know what to do with a 690 Duke, nevermind an RC4. If the SuperSingles class ever makes it here, THEN we'll see progress on the RC4.

I have feeling the SM-Travel is going to sell like MAD. As will the RC8. I also think the SD will become less & less visible, as it doesn't really fit a niche like the Adv/SM-T/RC8 does. This a GOOD thing. The SD will slowly become a rare bird. I like the SM-T, I like the RC8, hell, I LOVE the Adv 990-R!
But if I can only have one LC8 KTM?
I already have it.
Best color, too.

This:

does not at all resemble this:

but the above is more attractive than this:

You can see the fork travel difference between the two, and why KTM didn't add more fuel capacity with all that extra plastic....????
See how much nicer the SD fender looks on it?

Looks like the SMT is based on the SMR (same wheel base, head angle and suspension travel) and not the SM. But with the SM tank capasity...and only a 5kg weight penalty (7kg to the SMR). Not bad and for longer trips surely better. Doesn't look as cool as the SM+SMR though.

Is it ready to race?

A friend of mine said it, and thinking of it he's right.

I'm sure it will be a great bike, SM or SMR handling with good wind protection...

But isn't it a bit of a sell-out from ktm?? The end of and era where ktm meant a more extreme bike?

Mark, try on CFS for a while it is so debilitating, anything for a laugh feels good. Makes you feel like death.

From what I have been reading it sounds like cell degeneration, the symptoms are horrid.

Holy crap! I thought freestyler was just yanking our chains - that's an amazing dysfunction, yet I can read it just as quickly as my own pitifully normal spelling/word structure. "Challenged" indeed. Keep it coming.
Your ability to communicate is no less than anyone else's, except Joe, who is beyond uh, comprehension, sometimes.

I like how Freestylers accent comes so strongly through his creative spelling - adds real character...

I have actually been inspired to try and write in a NZ accent to my friends and its bloody hard!

Some Aussie's took the piss out of our accent recently [if you have never heard New Zealand spoken] and its pretty good.

Looks like everyone in NZ has watched it by the view count![/url]
