Regarding using the same PC3 as the standard superduke, even if the connectors are the same, the engine isn't, right? I mean, it makes more power, it revs higher, etc.
The problem is I live on a small island and there is no one to do custom maps here. There are no tuners here, and no dynos.
I can play around with a map, I have done it before, but I would need a base map. The base map from the standard superduke will not be suitable, right?

I guess I will try the cans and the Akro map first, like you said.
I read here that someone mounted FMF cans and the Akro map and the problem was solved.

I wanted to know for sure if the akro map helps anything, since the dealer (only ktm dealer on the island) is new and sells basically dirt bikes and quads, so he does not have the necessary equipment yet.
Owner is a friend and he said he will buy the equipment as soon as it becomes necessary, but I don't want to ask him to buy it just to install the akra maps if they don't help in the throttle issue.

The throttle tamer is out of the question, since, like you said, the throttle turn is already too long.

I don't know about 08 onward SDR being worse with the fueling or not, but mine is surely bad. I have previously owned several other bikes, and excluding the MV f4312R, they were all far, far better.
Even the 954, which at the time had the reputation for abrupt throttle. I had no problem with it. Sure, you had to respect it and use proper throttle inputs, but it was never actually an issue for me.

The SDR's chassis is incredibly agile. After my second ride I told the dealer that the bike, once moving, felt like it weighs just 100kg!
It feels like you have nothing bellow you! It is incredibly agile and changes direction with just a thought, you hardly have to move a muscle...
The problem is that that very same virtue only exacerbates the throttle issue.
Once leaned over on a slow corner, opening the throttle again in 2nd or even 3rd gear can really upset the chassis.

My bike seems to have a lot of throttle play, I will try to get it reduced.
The throttle itself is also not very smooth (the actual throttle, not the fueling), so that doens't help either.
Perhaps it needs lubricating.
I will ask the dealer to address these two issues.

You might wanna try the G2 throttle cam, simply because it's so cheap and easy to try... Then if you're not happy with the trottle turn, just go back to standard....

However, the best "adjustment" to make, might just be how you ride...? After years of riding big singles and twins (bikes, not girls), my wrist seems to find the Superduke standard throttle plenty smooth enough, even for London commuting.

...and finally, yes akras and the standard ktm akra map do seem to make a positive difference to fuelling overall.

I had the ECU reflashed on my 08 SDR with the KTM/Akra map when I put my Akra Evos on. It made the bike smoother, and I don't have an issue with it now, but it is still very sensitive. Once you have the catted exhaust off the map is a great price compared to other options, and its effective.

just a thought but could fraga mail his ecu to a ktm dealer and have them down load the akra map to it. then just do the 15 min idle trick at home?

I don't think he has a problem getting to a KTM dealer if he needed the akra map loaded.

It was a PCIII and tuner he wanted.

dear lord I hope I didnt screw up my SD. I just took the slack out of the throttle cable at the cable adjustment at the bar end. I missed steps 1 through six, completely. Frankly, I go for no slack. when I twist the throttle, something happens immediatly. I have used this aproach to throttle adjustment for forty years. They were'nt computers on wheels that long ago though, maybe they need a new approach. I am longing for the old days in a bike. The trouble is they were not as fun, even if you could actually adjust the slack in a cable without voiding the warranty. Way too many initials on a bike these days.
