900 Husky!?

From MCN. I think it looks like a 900 Duke III

This is a good thing. I reckon if Ktm made something similar, like a 600 sized SM with a 900 size engine, I'd be booking a test ride fast!

I think it's rumoured to use a larger bore BMW 800 parallel twin.
Could be interesting.

That bike looks like a riot. Parallel twin should lend itself to being quite light as well.

Unfortunately I have a hard enough time keeping my license on the SD. That thing....not a chance.

What's the appeal of these big displacement supermoto-type bikes? Husqvarna published the dry weight of this bike as 386lbs.... so what can you do with it that the Superduke R (for example) can't do?

I'm genuinely curious. I've only ever ridden one supermoto and it was a proper CRF450 conversion. I didn't have a chance to flog it too hard so I never got the feel for sumo, but to me the appeal seems to be the insanely light weight. If you forget about that advantage, what's left? I asked myself the same question of the Ducati Hypermotard. I guess I just gotta ride one...

A m8 of mine has the 950SMR. I took it out for a burn and on the real tight stuff like hairpins it is more fun than an SD but as soon as the road opened out a little it just wasn't the same bike at all. I'm not a wheelie guy (need to man up I know) but I'm sure the SM is even more of wheelie maniac than the SD. I do have a 450 EXC and love riding dirt. Would like to do a SM style track on it with SM wheels. I'm sure its a scream. Not as a full time bike for me though.
