Hello,

Has anybody tried these bulbs ?

I'm very tempted.

I read (Using the search button) that the 1290 CPU does not like these bulbs. Any issues with the 990?

Thanks in advance for your time,
looks interesting would love to see how you like it, i have my bike with a retrofitted projector and so far i love it
I installed the h7 hi/lo on my f800gs. Veddy nice! I plan to install one on my Superduke as well, but haven't yet.
I installed the H7 LED from Cyclopsadventuresports.com and chuffed as chips with it.

I have the Dual Bulb euro spec Adventure headlight in my SuperDuke 990...

I just received the h4 bulb from advmonster.com. (Ironically they are located approximately 1 hour away from my house). I will install in the next few days and write a how-to. If such a thing is really needed to replace a light bulb.

Yes for sure and how many people it took! [/quote]

Inquiring minds would like to know.
It'll be interesting to see if you have to modify the housing for the heat sink and fan.

Hopefully you have a better beam pattern than this guy did:

I still think a projector housing is the best way to go.
Yep , projector housing is also what I want to do, but getting a spare one is still expensive.

Tood bad the light pattern didn't work, it would be simpler
Well I did it. And I only needed the help of 3 friends, one professional mechanic, and 2 Light Emitting Diode specialists. Nah, it took me 10 minutes.

This is what comes in the box for $45 + shipping, less than $50 to my door.

Both bulbs. For size comparison purpose.

The top LED is short beam, low LED is high beam. The LED's point up once installed.

I did have to slightly shave the white plastic collar that secures the bulb to the SD lens. I used my Dremel tool. I also had to cut the back of the rubber plug that covers the back of the bulb to allow the heat sink to breathe.

The light is pure white. I personally dislike the blue hue of some bulbs and this bulb has very pure light. I think they claim 6000K.

So far, very satisfied.

I'll go for a nite ride soon and find out.

Can you do two things?

Sitting on the bike with it pointed down the street. Low/High be

Sit in your car facing your bike and see if it blinds you.

It's definitely brighter.
I was going to say these LEDs (especially without some type of projector to direct the light) straight up blind the fook out of anyone in oncoming direction. I absolutely hate people who do this shit.

Take the time to retrofit a projector or dont use an HID/LED at all!
I really like the bright white and intensity of that bulb. Even in the pictures you can see a big difference. Do you have pictures of the "slight shave" you had to do? what about the rubber cut? Come on man, with all those people helping you should have been taking a lot of pictures

What about the heat going up behind the gauges, did you check it out? with a heat sink that big I am a little concerned about that. I want to do this mod straight away so I'm sitting here with baited breath...I had sushi today

HID's spill much more light than LED's. I had the HID setup in my Superduke for a long time, but eventually took it out and went back to stock because while a brighter light the HID was less focused.

9:16 pm. the top of the beam adjusted as per SD Owners Manual. 5 meters (16'4") away, 5 cm (2") below the height of the light bulb suspension loaded with my weight. Pics taken with iPhone.

What a coincidence, I was about to pull the trigger on the LED light and I decided to search for any updates. I saw your update that you weren't impressed and then you posted this update. It looks good in the pictures but what about to you, what do you think now that you have adjusted it?
Looks really good.

I recently installed a LED bulb and am impressed. It's definitely better over stock and HID. White light is good.
