Was looking at one of these and they're doing cracking deals on them at the moment. Almost worth contemplating.

I used search and found a few old articles on them, including a bloke who went from one to the other.

Any thoughts lads ?

Just to clear a few things up, the 990SM is 19Litre tank range yeah ? and the 950SM is 17.5L.

The Superduke is killing me at times with the fueling up all the time and with a trip to Germany/Belgium later in the year, i don't think the lads will put up with it

I guess the obvious answer is an 08 S-D but i;m not sure i could justify swapping bikes and spending cash unless i actually got a different model LOL
joe will spill for you weeksy, I had a new 06 gsxr 750 for 60 days then, poof a puff of smoke..... gone out of my driveway.

was so upset and wondering how long it would be before the thieves would return, so in retaliation, I bought a 06 950 SM,, a marvelous bike, for me it

was not as fast on a smooth curvy road as the 07 SD, on my way to trade the SM for the SD, I really did get 48 MILES PER GALLON !!!! When I traded I was

thinking...... I surely hope the SD is as good on fuel as the ("SM being the funnest bike i had ever owned") SM?

This is a very hard call to make, I loved the SM with a passion. I like the low short SD too,,, alot, but I long for a real pure sports bike, right now it is the

RC8 but the suzuki is still calling my name.
The new SM990 has the same motor as the SD, so "mileage" may be very similar, distance slightly better. Totally different riding position. The carb'd 950 is a very different engine from the 990, 20+ less HP, and not nearly as torquey (if that's a word). We don't get the SM990 in the US, and may not, seeing many 950SMs left over.
Having ridden my mate's 08 SM990,the fuelling is far superior to my old 07 SD.

Feels a tad more powerful too.
Howdy Cap'n
Looks like you've been to Gibralter!
HMmmmmm so ideally it would have to be the 990SM instead of the 950SM as i don't really wanna drop 20ish BHP.

THanks guys... that's a start anyway

Is it worth looking for a used 2007 SD, with the bigger tank?
Or see if you can get the carbon tank for the 2005-2006 model which I think is a few litres bigger than standard and should give you a bit more range.

credit card vs loan...whats the difference? Loan puts cash in your hand and is cheaper to borrow! Life is short, get credit while you can!!
