Guess the pound euro exchange has pushed the prices up this year, the new 2009 price has been increased to £9,495, not sure that will help sales in the current climate, still not sure about the white paint scheme,

I was thinking this on uther threds ,like the HP pipes ,twinshack has got them up for £700, and somthing , now when befor christmas they were arownd £500 , odd , are we the motorbikers in this country abowt to have us with awere pants down

Bikes shoud be cheaper to buy now ,Less Vat to pay on top .

#5The weak pound will mean virtually everything imported will have to go up. We gave up manufacturing and exporting along time ago which was ok when the financial economy was proping us up.
Still Triumph should do ok , their bikes will be cheaper in Europe and USA but probably not here.

#7£9495 christ glad i got my 08 when i did then, the new R1 is going to be 10grand cant see the point in the present climate.

#10The £/R exchange makes your increase the same as what we got in SA. We're still selling new 'old-stock' 06s with round akras for the equivalent of £6500 (R95 000), which here in SA is crazy good value. Unchanged for over a year...
The gsxr750 went up from R93 000 (£6361) to R118 000 (£8071) in the space of 1 year and 1 update!

#12Superduke's use to be priced @ €14k here in Ireland (the '05 & '06 models).
Now the KTM dealer is matching the UK prices - I reckon because people here were going over to the UK to buy the 2nd hand bike for thousands less then what you'd pay here. At the time it was cheaper buying a brand new one and paying VRT (vehicle registration tax) and VAT (value added tax) on top of the purchase price it was cheaper then buying a new one here!!
However I'd expect that our 2nd hand prices will have taken a battering.
Must check what this all means for a potential upgrade?

#15at £9,495 and a white paint scheme I think dealers will have to discount to move them, KTM don't like that word but in the present climate they will have to, buy the time you add on Akrapovic's, it's a £10,500 bike, add a PC3 and a custom map (really need on an 08 sdr) some R&G Bungs it could easily run to £11,250
the SDR just ain't a 11k bike, glad I brought mine last year, could be good news for used 08 SDR values,
