New owner with a question. After my 600 mile check-up ($491.00 US!!! ) I don't think the bike is as strong as the motojournalists claim. A friend with a new 07 thinks the same. Has the question of first and second gear restrictions on the bike been brought up? I'm told that the fuel map with the Akro pipes removes these restrictions. If this is true I'm sure KTM tricked up the test bikes for the motomags.

Junkman, it's 2nd and 3rd gear that are restricted....yes the Akra remap removes them but you can also do it yourself....just search this forum for tips, it's on here somewhere.

As for a disappointing ride....guess it depends on what you were expecting......high expectation can lead to disappointment. My test ride bike was better than the one I bought on first ride, but after I settled into it, I'm well pleased. A few mods down the line and a good set up for me and I'm blown away by it!! More yet to come
