#23I'm sure if he'd had a budget of 5 or 6 figures and permission to film in a major city like Tokyo or Osaka then he could have turned out something far slicker with hired stunt riders and free supplied bikes.
I see a LOT of shite short films....I run a projection room in an independant cinema and we run short films festivals etc all the time. When you look at the kit he had to work with (semi pro stuff at best) then he's done a great job. Artistically it is rough and so is some of the photography but from a filmmakers point of view it shows real potential when you look at the skills involved in the process itself which are not subject to budgetary factors.
Many people are used to seeing very highly polished glossy content on screen, advertising and music videos have far higher budgets per on screen minute than any feature film out there which is why it all looks SO good.
But then the old saying about opinions and arseholes has never been so true as in this case (in case you haven't heard it: opinions are like arseholes; everyone's got one)
