Got the sdr back from the dealers today after its 15km's service but.................when I went to pick it up the grunt said "we havent done the sparkplugsd are they are special and we didnt have them " they are in stock now,do you want to take them and put them in or you can rebook it in for the plug change,we need a day"

Like wtf!!

So I bought the 2 plugs and paid up, I think the nob was implying that the plugs on my sdr are not original, as he took me over to a smt and pointed out they are different and its an lc8.

So in brief, I wait 3 weeks for a partial service, pay 430€ and then have to try put the new plugs in myself.

Couple questions

Is it a hugely difficult job to change the plugs - is there a special long reach spanner needed ?
When he checked clearances would he of had it all stripped out to simply fit plugs at same time or can you do that without having to take all the kit off that you need to to change plugs ?

Also just to annoy me further, when I went to collect it It was stood out in pissing rain - shit high after a test ride and it went in clean - what a set of pricks

Is it me ??
Not just you mate,
I went to tri county to get some knocking noise sorted out form the clutch/gearbox area (bearings).
They fobbed me off with an £80 oil change and chain adjusting and send me on my way. issue not sorted so rang back and the chap on the phone said it will cost you around £1000 to change a set of bearing, what the hell so i said you scaring me away for nearly a diy job and he basically said yes.
i never want to go out of my way to get my bike to them unless i absolutely need to.
shit service deserves no work from me, went back to my old mechanic, yea no problem, let me have a look at it and also pick up and delivery for free.
What the f**k, they may be a KTM dealer but no need to be snoby and choose work.
Found the sealey link for a plug spanner - do you have to remove the valve cover ??
