Another touring SD

I bought some new, small, saddlebags recently and decided the best thing, as I have akra slip-on's, was to make some heatshields so the saddlebags don't melt and fall off!

The heat shields are attached to the bolt that holds the akra's on(the one that goes through the carbon fibre "strap") and also to the three small screw holes in the exhaust, these hole are small and are for the small curved carbon fibre "bling" shield that KTM make.

Worked a treat , took less than 3 hours to fit. The heat shields were made by a mate as a favour (I bunged him a wedge though)

Surely that's still going to get hot enough to melt those straps?

Ok, there are a few phrases I'm trying to figure out. For instance, "that's pants" I think is a bad thing (please correct me if I'm wrong). However, this one, "I bunged him a wedge" ( ) just sounds wrong and possibly illegal in many parts of the world.

NICE work on the heat shields. Hope they work for you. Looking at the last photo I think you need a sign warning of a "WIDE LOAD".

The heat shields stay cold when going along, air gets between the exhaust and shield

They're only fitted when I'm going touring, and need the saddlebags.

I know in the foto's they look wide but they're not much wider than my waist

The only time they get warm is when I stop, after a while the heat from the exhaust warms them as there's no air going past, but they don't get quite as hot as the akra's and I generally take the bags off when I'm booking into a Hotel
