Thanks lads. My mate mentioned November (that 2 freakin' years away )
Not sure what the program will be but probably mainly roads. I would be keen to do some off road as well but we might rent some dirt bikes for those days?
Will actually do 3 days of riding is SA from Cape Town in 4 weeks Working rotation in Angola so I've arranged so I go by SA

I'm using this company www.african-outdoors.com , some people I know used them and was happy. BMW GS800 but should be fine since we will do some gravel as well.

See average weather . Looks like Oct+Nov is the best time, not too hot and no rain

Hi Bink,

Sounds like a blinding idea, Her indoors is from the Cape and I have spent a lot of time there. and you will have a blast. If you are looking to rent a KTM adventure I understand that KTM Cape Town have just set up a rental fleet, here is their web site, alternatively if you dont mind a BMW, Atlantic BMW in the centre of town have a huge fleet with all models from 1200 Adventures to 650 Dakars as well as the touring range.

Smurf, Have you got one of those invisible SA number plates that seem so popular??
I just returned (last night) from South Africa and I managed a 4 day ride at the end of business. Did a loop out of Cape Town with a buddy -- down to Cape Point and then east along the coast to Arniston, then to Franschoek and ended up in Paternoster on the west coast, north of Cape Town.

All great riding, mostly street with some gravel road sections thrown in - the area around Franschoek had the best twisties but all of the scenery was great. Had some issues with wind and rain. It's the second year in a row I've gotten to ride around the Western Cape and it's all been fantastic! Nambia next

Thanks. This is what they say:

"We will do the Cederberg area (very scenic, some challenging roads), and proceed to Sutherland high in the mountains,
also a very scenic route."

Sounds OK?

Fook Of course my luggage with my gear got lost on the way down to Angola (Been lost for a week now). Still might show up, but need a plan B which is buying new gear in Cape Town. So need some advice where to go. I've only got 3 days in SA so want to go directly to a shop and just get the stuff in 30min and get out riding.

So need some advice from you SA guys if you happen to know a good store in Cape Town.

Have been Googling and found . That is, not sure if it as dealer or only a web shop (can't see any info about a store)

Other stores with good selection in cape Town
