I was there. Just got home last night. 2,500 mile round trip on the SD. The bike did great. Left Idaho and went through Oregon, Nevada and California. Met up with a friend who rode down from Aspen CO, and stayed with a couple friends who live in San Jose. Ran out of gas 5 miles from a station, 200.0 miles on the odometer when it quit. I knew I was getting low so I tucked in behind my friend and drafted for about 40 miles. Tipped the bike way over hoping to find a few more drops of fuel and I made it to the gas station
After we left the Tahoe area, we rode down hwy 88 on the way down and back up hwy 4 on the way back. If you guys ever get a chance to ride either of these roads, go for it. Some of the most beautiful roads and both had plenty of turns to keep it fun. They are both just south east of Tahoe.
I saw three SD's right near where I parked.

my SDR was parked in the lot close to turn 5 and vendors area (yamaha). it was in the front row. you would have saw it if you rode through to the VIP parking.
