Anyone done a 1150 conv to a 990

Guys,

I am sure this is an old topic but anyone stuck an 1150 (or 1190) kit into their 990.

If so any comments, problems, advice as the SMR is asking to be abused a little more

Prob a little late to start now before new season but any advice would be welcomed

been talked about but major frame mods required to make it fit. There will hopefully be a 1190 SD in early 2012 so that might be better option.

okay i was under the impression the existing liners would take the increase in piston size etc. May need bigger rad for cooling and normal stuff that goes along with it?

Ah yes colonel I see the error in my post that i was trying to put an RC8 lump in it.
Yes had looked at this option but been advised its a no go, frame wont take it etc

How about fitting the internals and injectors from an Superduke R to your SMR for another 15bhp at the rear wheel? (assuming the SMR has the normal LC8/SM/ADv/SD engine). Most sorted SDRs make around 130 RWBHP without major mods or engine stress.

As for boring out / new liners, etc, for a cc hike, speak with Chris at Xbikes. http://www.xbikes.cc as he loves to tune LC8s and other european exotica...

Doing as we speak inc M/hooligan air box and normal snipping of various wires etc..... but the now i have started thought has got in there
