My duke already has akrapovic slip ons, re map, o2 sensor eliminators, and 16 tooth front sprocket. I got these ideas from this site and it has really made a big difference in the bikes performance. I was thinking to do the following additions, akrapovic headers, DNA stage 3 air box, power commander 5 with auto tune. That's about 2000 dollars just for those three add ons. Do you think it will be a dramatic change and well worth the money or not enough horsepower to make sense?
Are these mods worth the price???

#2Regarding the Akra headers,
dont think you will notice any gains unless you have the heads gas flowed.
Im presuming youve got a SD.fitting the Akra headers will loose you abit of bottom end.
You dont need a power commander you can use Tune ECU which is free.
Alternatively you could fit ya Gixer engine

#3Is the autotune just single channel, as in just one sensor? 2 would be much better surely. If you can find a tuner happy to use TuneECU you could save a few quid there? DNA/MB def worth the dosh. Nice gains and sounds awesome Headers. Are they the SDR ones or stainless evolution? I have the full Ti evo system but it came at a price that was just too cheap to say no to. Sounds awesome and I'm sure there were gains over my old round Akras but not that I could really feel.
Another is a freebe except for a few a couple of quid/dollors. That is removing the 2nd flies. Really made a nice change to my bike. One I could feel in both grunt and smoothness.

#4No. Two grand will buy eight track days or eight sets of tyres or one thousand cups of Starbucks French roast.
Tune ECU and that new filtration system at best and spend the rest on pooosie

#5Yeah that new foam airbox looks good and certainly for that price.

#6Experience has taught me that, unless you are going to get the heads gas flowed the only mod that will help you is to free your airbox up a bit.
No need to spend loads of money on a DNA3 or Motohooligan: just buy a K&N panel filter and screw it to the hole you cut in the top of your airbox using self - tapping screws. We know from testing that it is every bit as good as a motohooligan but for $30.

#7mine came with round akros and I swapped them for a full system, more power in the bottom to mid range, and that was without a remap !

#9You would be better off with a different map.
I think there are some people running with my map for this mod on here.
Skip's map is for this airbox and akras I think.
The motohooligan maps would be very close I'd have thought.

#10Sure would like to know what happened to my post in this thread ... (it was the first post after the OP). This about the 5th post in the last 2 weeks that has been deleted.
Yes, deleted. In each case, I confirmed that the post was placed. Only to return later - and gone.
