My friend just purchased and added on some goodies to this Ducati Street Fighter. Mods includ Termi slip ons, Ohlins rear shock and stabilizer, bar end mirrors, and a nice tail tiddy. We went out in 10 C weather but it was sunny and put in about 160 km. I jumped on the Ducati and here is my feed back for those of you that have not seen or ridden one.
In Ducati fashion they make the bike feel narrow and compact and it gives you the feel of a racer. The riding position is more like a sport bike than the Duke. I immediately felt the pressure in my recovering wrist (atv racing injury) from my body weight pressing downwards. The bars are narrow and the head light and controls are tucked out of the way so your field of vision is wide open with no obstructions. Taller riders will be cramped, I am 1.8 m tall and felt at home but my friend is 2 +m and feels the compactness of the bike. The Street Fighter produces some serious power it rolls on like a freight train and keeps coming. It handles in typical Ducati fashion flawlessly, I wish it were set up to my body weight so that I could have pushed it a bit, my friend also out weighs me by a lot so it was pretty stiff for me. The front end lofts easily, the front brakes on this were excellent but the rear needed some work it was a little spongy. The foot pegs are small and my boot rubbed the exhaust on the right side. The seat is wide but in street fighter fashion is not meant for long distance comfort. Over all I liked it, the extra power was a treat and it has a nice deep sounding exhaust note. Would I trade my Duke for it, NO but if I had all kinds of money I would have one to jump on now and then.
I still haven't found a bike as versatile as the Super Duke and it is what makes me love it, performer, comfort, enough power, and much different than everything else around me. Thanks for checking out my post!
