Hello I figured a bike as unique looking as a 1290 deserves a unique helmet so I have been looking at the AVG AX-8 EVO Naked and there Dual EVO line, any one out there sporting on of these helmets and which model did you choose ? I have read a few mixed reviews on both helmets and I would love to try one on but none of my local dealers stock any of these. Anyways heres a link from AGV http://store.agv.com/c/off-road_ax-8-dual-evo

#2I have used a very similar helmet design the Arai TourX for the last 9 years (1No. X2, 2No.X3 and 1No.X4 design) and find it very practical and comfortable too. Never had an AVG of any style but it may not be the only option.

#3I'm rocking the "naked" version of that helmet.. I love it. HUGE screen.. almost like having an open face.

#4OH.. and I ride supermoto and dirt a ton..
I have several dirt, and dualsport helmets.. The visors are no fun at speeds over 90mph.
Unless you like to automatically pop your neck when you look left/right? lol

#9Noise isn't bad at all.. I'd put it on par with my arai's
I have some less expensive helmets (afx dual sport, and a bluetooth oneal) This one is quieter.
When Im commuting, I ride with noise canceling ear buds, so it's not a main concern for me.

#12Thanks for the replays guys, I was also looking at the Bell MX-9 also but I'm still undecided because all my friends and were I work tell me that I would look foolish wearing a Dual Sport but I'm not going to listen to them.

#13Why would you like a visor/lid on a helmet that's going to be used with a 1290?
I remember how lousy it was over 100km/h my dirt helmet. Always looking down and forcing my neck back around
But it's your head/neck, you choose.
And don't let your friends and fellow workers give you any grief...after all none of them has the balls to buy the "beast" like you did
