Any of the Spidi bnack priotectors are very comfortable - I also have an Alpinestars but it is much bulkier. I also ride with a chest protector from impactarmor.com buit understand that Knox has just release one also.

Take care - Wolfhound
I use a Spidi Back Warrior. Not cheap but it covers a large area, its very light weight, and low profile...

I like it - but make sure you get the right size - mines the right length but I got the large waist belt which is a pain in the arse...

I have the dianese 'pressure suit'style stuff for the dirt bike - I actually have two sets as I got a new one when the arms fell apart on my old set.

I havent had anything to do with street stuff... the set i have was about $500AUD... will it work for the street (minus arms) - taking inot account the above comment on plated armour vs. leathers???

Cheers and thanks

Gary
This guy is selling just the back protectors - CHEAP!!

I won't ride very far w/o one. I have this same one (I bought an extra because he's so inexpensive). They cannot graft a new spine on. Or head.
Of course, you have to have a spine to begin with.....

Fair point about hard armour wearing through the leather, but that could apply to limb armour as well as a back protector. I think you`d have to slide a long way down the road to wear through good quality leather--you`d probably hit something solid first...... Hard shell armour would then more likely protect better against a penetrating injury than soft stuff so I guess you make your own choice based on these assumptions. Whatever---any back protection is better than none.
Theres talk of hard armer ,being band now from raceing ,and track days , becose its been fownd to be dangeres on High impackt crashes ,

a shock wave is parst through the armer ,on impackt and can corse just as much damidge ,to the wearer ,as iff they wernt wereing eney in the ferst place , thats why lether makers Like hideout yous there oun speshirley reysirched proteckters in there bespoke lethers .

Now heres the scairey bit for you all

All CE apruved off the peg lethers, armer , back proteckters , boots, gloves, all bike kit ,that has got a CE aproovale mark in 'on it ,

is onley Speed rated ,to protckt the youser up two 30'MPH,
