Best mods with standard Airbox?

This might be going over old ground so please redirect me if necessary. I'm off to see Kev at Projex for a dyno session next Saturday on the way to our 2 day(hopefully not freezing) track session at Anglesey. Thought about changing Airbox before but lack of funds and time mean I'm sticking with the stock box and my full Evo system on my 07 SDR.

Should I just let Kev do the best he can with the bike as is or is there any benefit from removing all the secondary stuff that seems to get junked by most of you guys when you fit MH,CPR Rottweiller or the DNA boxes?

I've got 6 days to decide what to do so your input would be appreciated.
79 views on this thread and no input! Does anybody have any advice? Dyno run in 2 days.
aparently you can cut a large section of the top of the air box and fit some sort of panel filter or foam sandwidiched between 2 pieces of stell mesh for a better flow, not done it myself but others have
Sorry dude only just seen it!

Ask Tripoddave if you can have his airbox lid with panel filter stuck in it (i would have dropped mine over there for you had i of known )

Dump the secondries and the shafts definatly!!!

Move the rev limit up to 9900rpm

Should be worth 5-7HP.

Kev can do all the above for you as long as you forewarn him
I'm sure Ive seen another thread on this in the last few days?? I'm sure Bert will be along soon with a link. He truly is the thread finder master!

2nd flies out and holes plugged, O2 turned off, snorkel removed, RC8 stacks maybe?? Not sure how they would work in in a standard airbox though?

Thanks guys. Maybe Tripod Daves's old Airbox is in Kev's workshop somewhere.
Whilst he's at out he could whip out my secondaries on the rc8 too?

For those interested we ran my SDR on Kev's dyno on saturday. His advice was it you are not changing the airbox leave everythings as standard which is exaxctly what we did in the end.
Started of at 110bhp with Akra map and full Evo System. 40 mins later we see 115bhp, lovely flat torque trace and 79.6bhp at 6000rmp. Kev reckons its the strongest stock airbox output he's had on his dyno. And he's done a few if this forum is anything to go by.
Ran a treat and Anglesey, just wish I was as fast as the bike
Was that with TuneECU or with a PowerCommander ?
