So with the new Super Duke release just around the corner I've anticipated trading my 2008 SD in for the new model when it becomes available. However, considering the new SD will cost at least $15K USD and my SD would probably only fetch about $5K for a trade or $6K if I sold it myself it got me wondering if it would even make sense to trade my current SD for the next generation model? For example, for less than the trade in difference between my bike and the new SD I could buy a zero miles New Old Stock 2011 CBR1000rr and keep my current SD. I guess until we truly know what the new Super Duke is going to be it's not worth worrying about such things but it is interesting that you could potentially have two awesome and completely different bikes for the price of one of the latest greatest.
I'd rather have two bikes. A naked and a sports.
I'm with you mate. If KTM takes forever to release the new SDR then I'll be getting an RC8R in the meantime and will hang on to my '10 SDR. I'm enjoying my time at Sepang and am thinking about getting myself the Track version to stop from even considering taking it on the road. Mind you, reselling the Track later might prove a bit difficult out here.
New super duke won't be released till 2014 DOH!
Will they still charge crazy rates for the bike if it is track only Dave?
that was my plan also but in the end after hearing it was probably 2014 i traded in my rc8 for a new smr 990 and only on the run in stage but what fun she is, reminds of the good things of the sd that i had before but with a different power delivery, is now very linear.

im a short bugger so hopping on and off is fun
I'd have 3 bikes for the price of one $15k bike and do. Ex AMA CBR1000 race bike, 06 SD, 08 SDR, total value ~$15k, at least what I paid.
I'am happy to be able to keep my SD(for now) . With a new governement, the taxes and healthcare plus all other costs are going way up. I hope the crisis will come to an end soon, or I will have to sell my SD I'am afraid. Without another bike coming back.

YES! In the beginning we were told the carbon tax was for big polluting companies.
They said that it will not effect the Australian population with increases in the cost of things.
Now you haven't got to be a Maths genius to know that this was all lies
The Australian people did not even get a vote on the subject even though everyone could see it was a scam the Government just basically said stuff you a brought it in.
Now everything is getting more expensive but the big laugh is that when you purchase Somthing
With carbon tax the carbon tax is added on to the product and then they put the GST.
So what is happening is that we now pay tax on a tax.
I just dont know what has to happen in Australia for all Australians to say we have had enough everyone just puts up with the Govenments lies. Out power bills have gone up by 50% in the last few years so most people are paying $400 a quarter and more i know of one lady who's bill was $1200 last quarter and its just her and 2 young children.
My mum who lives by herself was $475! I am so sick of the Governmets crimes.
.
FOOK GOV !!! and BIG BROTHER - and their FOOK'N gun control BS and personal rights ! don't get me started
Lol! Don't get me started on the gun thing!
When I was younger my mates and myself would walk the streets with air rifles and the cops would
Say nothing hell we used to shoot the old 22 in the back yard
Try that now and you would get frigin shot!
Yes gun amnesty is the beginning of the take over. No guns can't fight back
One thing you will always notice is that the bad guys always seem to have guns.
So ask yourself a question who are the baddies ?
Somehow Oz has gone form a cheap place to live 15 years ago to one of the most expensive now. You lot much be screwing!

My last power bill was $200 and I have a 9mx6m shed with tools and I run a welder... Carbon tax must not be in the west yet.
Also the tax was introduced this fiscal year... So power rises before cannot be attributed to the tax...
QLD policy of hydraulic fracturing the upper darling basin will fool it for everyone. I work in oil and gas and there are reports of bubbling streams already...
Stop whiffing about yesterday and try and protect tomorrow matie...
I'm thinking about getting an old ducati 748 for track days. Prices seem reasonable considering they are nearly fully upgraded with ohlins shock, showa forks, and brembo brakes. Plus, the trellis frame should help its survivability if/when it gets dropped. My ideal choice would be a triumph daytona 675, but they are still too pricey for me.
I think I might just move to Qld I'm only 20 mins away.
NSW is the rip of state.
Tomorrow will be to late! Linga ....
Everyone in NSW is complaining about their power bills.
