Bike insured while in a van?

Hi guys and gals,

I was going to put my SD into a van and take it to the Alps, for some proper twisty road fun. However, my insurance company doesn't cover my bike while it's being carried in a van The van hire company, as you'd expect, only insure their van, not its contents.

So, how have you made sure your bike's insured if you carry it the back of a van? I know a few people do this on track days etc.

Cheers,

Lee
Not sure mate.
You could ask Phil @Bikesure . Damn!
If your bike is covered fully comp then there would be no exclusion under a normal policy for bikes carried in vans. In your case just make sure you have foreign use extension on your policy or request it, otherwise your cover will be TPO.
MCI, Bennets and Performance Direct all insure the bike in the van.
Thanks for all your replies, my bike is fully comp' and has full EU cover, I use eBike and as it's an online only service it's a slow job getting info from them

Cheers again,

Lee
