I would like to hear about this as well. Im still using my old Harley boots. Yikes!
really interested in the ventilated versions since i live in the hot @$$ south (U.S.)
Apinestar SMX or smx pluss I think are vented , I woodent were eney thing ells on my SD

Just replaced my old Sidi vertebra boots this week,i bought them back in 98 and they have been faultless. I replaced them with Sidi vertigo race boots if i get 12 years hard riding out of these i'll be well chuffed.

Sidi's i can highly recommend and they are a great fit

Frey Daytona makes the best boots - hands down. If you care to spend the geld. These are the shorty's.
i have the Alpinestar One O One,
comfortable and reasonably cheap.
good protection, not as much ventilation as others.
I have Alpinestar SMX for road and they are totally waterproof through two winters but I have Daytona Evos for track. I got mine three years ago from ebay for £150 (used), because I can't justify £500 for new pair but they are worth it. Crashed in many times.

Like these on e bay now.

I have an expensive pair of Sidis...not sure if Sidi still make this style...this is what they look like:

BUT...While great for riding, they aren't very good for walking in...so as an all round more casual motorcycle boot I wear Redwings...very similar to this one...but mens size 12...not sure if they are still available...wearing them right now...comfortable on bike and off.
