Anyone from Brissie wants to go and have tyre kick and test ride on a Trumpet Speed triple?
Not for me, before you all panic
My (useless, coz he could have got Pauls SD) mate at work just put a deposit down on a speed triple 09 at Team Moto Triumph in Springwood Brisbane.
He's looking for someone to give it the old check out and trash round the corner to see if it is worth the $.
PM me if you're interested and I pass on the details, even if it is just to give him crap about not buying an SD later.
If you go ahead with this I'll do my best to talk the tightarse out of a few drinks as compo... (good luck with that! LOL)

Only upside is that he has just applied to be a copper so we might get out of a ticket if we help him out. (thats my angle anyway)
Hey Guy I used to own a 08 speedy and to be honest I didn't like it much the front end was not confidence inspiring and I just couldn't get it to handle like it should have. Also the centre of gravity is to high and it feels top heavy.
I liked the engine it had good power down low and mid range but ran out of puff quickly top end.
The dash liked to get water in it if it rained the paint was really brittle it was so bad that I had paint coming off the side covers the first time I washed it lol. It liked to jump out of gear at times it also had a bad vibe from the wheels at about 180kph that I didn't get looked at because I had had enough of the bike by then. The front end would dive really bad under hard breaking at speed and the rear shock started to get corrosion on it early. The engine would run hot so I had to flush the cooling system to get all the sand out and I put 25% coolant and 1/2 bottle water wetter in it and it did make a bit of difference bit I still think the rad is to small. Now I bought this bike brand new and sold it within 3 months. All in all even the controls look sort of on the cheap side but they are a cool looking bike.
If it was me I would get the Street Triple R they go really good and handle really good as well smaller and lighter. But I'm 5'6" so it probably would suit me better.
i would but im stupidly busy at work...no time for anything latley

and im allergic to trumpys
Nobody wants to ride a speed triple then.... Fair call!
How far does James live from there? I could have a look but I'm like approximately 1hour 45min from Brissy and I might end up trading my SD on it
This week I can if it is not raining.. I'm driving past moss street everyday for work... I'm sure my arm could be twisted on the way home. Is this the new model or old shape? Been a while since IV ridden one. Would be nice to compare with my new suspension setup and dvs
Hey Mrz I think the 09 is the old shape and sorry for putting your name up for the job

Mate you need to have a good talk to him as this sounds just like a mate that died back in 1974.
I've ridden one(2012 S3). It's good. I had a 09 S3 and it's similar to that just more punch out of turns. I'll always love the S3 it's a cool bit of shit.
your right about that old slow steve especially the last 3 words of your sentence that really sums it up.

Thanks mate! You just made my day
crap... i forgot to give a ride report... must have been a different bike though because i rode a black one (not the weird colour that you described.

was not really impressed... brakes felt spongy and the bike felt wallowy.... but the engine was amazingly strong and smooth... not characterful but pulled well. I must say though that i hate that triple whizzing sound... it makes a whirring noise that just ruins it... just like the ducatis with their rattle clutches

was happy to jump on the SD afterwards... i should have named the bike thor after the thunder god... cos that induction just sound so angry after the Speed Triple
