Im currently looking for a new bike and its down to either a Superduke or a Speed Triple. With the amount i have to spend it looks like im going to be getting a pre 07 model with the smaller tank, how many miles do you normally get before it would need filling up? Also, are the engines good for pretty high mileage or would i need to buy the lowest mileage example i can get my hands on. Any other advice on things i should be looking out for would be greatly appreciated.
Dude check the thread further down about fuel consumption but with the smaller tank the general concencus seems to be between 60-80 miles before the fuel light comes on depending on riding style.

As for engine reliablity theres guys on here with 40k+ still going strong. Klincks bike is on 40k and running at 129+bhp!

The adventure guys are on 80-100k some of them which is the same engine (although detuned?) so dont let a high milage put you off especially if serviced well!
I bought a new speed triple in '06 and sold it six months ago. Great bike, lots of power, torque, good handling. It was a lot of fun and I missed it when it was gone. Now I have a super duke and don't miss the S3 anymore. This bike was a very worthy replacement. Either way, you'll make a good choice.
