Round Akras with carbon wrap a la Bic Bicknell?

They look slightly shorter than Akras..., well shorter than mine anyway.

Could be someone has cut them down a little?

Yep they look like round Akras that have been shortened and then carbonned up.

All I know is, they are incredibly loud!

Yup, they need there quiet inserts fitted (sometimes called their baffles). I'm guessing you don't have them?

DB killers are almost impossible to find, if your bike did not have them when you bought it. I recently had some custom ones made from Pipewerx. Good to have a source for custom replacement baffles.

Yup, as long as it's reasonable tight around the neck it should work fine. You could even get some thin metal and cut a band to act as a shim if needed.

Yes, those "silencers" (word used advisedly...) look exactly like the round Akrapovic ones on my old 990 road bike, carbon wrap aside. That, too, was deafeningly loud when I bought it and a pair of baffles (or dB killers if you prefer) from Pipewerx made it far easier to live with - an easy direct fit but unlike genuine Akrapovic baffles they don't have a female thread in them so I used regular M6 nuts with a dab of loctite on the threads - they haven't budged in 3 years. The baffles were a sniff under £20 each.

I have Yosh pipes. Pretty loud. Tried installing the "low volume inserts" that came with the bike. Very tight fit and fiddly to insert and align the retaining screws. Made little difference. Still loud just different pitch. Put em back in the box.
