Are these SD just for blatting around on, or can you do some miles touring ie 200+ a day for 10 days. I'm not talking motorway because I appreciate that's a waste of time.

How many people have done it and would you do it again?

Has anyone fitted that little touring screen from the powerparts catalogue, does it make any difference.

If no one ansewers I'm going to throw my dummey out of the pram and buy a BMW1200gs or maybe a Tuono Factory...Ha

Surely if you want to tour the SD bad enough you can. We just did 2800 kms in four days and there was a range of different bikes in the group CBR1000RR, 749R, Monsters, a brutale 910R, and an old 900SS... None are officially tourers but we all made it - and we had a huge amount of fun. There are more practical bikes to do these distances on but it wouldnt be as much fun man... I guess the only real problem is pillions - we didn't have any

Most of the time the SD will be fine for the riding that I do. It's just that a couple of times a year I go abroad, no pillion though. I will take a chance and let you know how I get on.
