Can you swap exhausts on the SD without programming it...

Could I put on a Stock OEM SD Exhaust for the street (quiet for touring, less noise while flying through the state parks, less attention from cops, etc etc) and then put on a cored out OEM system (i.e. buy someone's old system off ebay and take out the cat and the innards of the mufflers for track use) without having to re-programme the computer? Will it learn the new settings itself in a 15min warm up?

Hi mate,
You may be better off with with either of the Akrapovic cans as they have removable baffles. All you have to do is to get a Akra map loaded once. It will be a little louder than stock with the baffles in but it's hell of a lot easier to pull out/put in baffles than changing the whole exhaust..

I think that it's unwise to run a map for a standard exhaust with a CAT and expect it to be OK for an unrestricted silencer. If you load the Akra map onto the ECU then I'm pretty sure it would eventually damage the CAT when you ran it with the standard set up.

You could fit a PC111 and have the richer map on that and then disconnect it and run on the standard ECU map when you change over your exhaust set up?

There are a lot of people here who know more than me on this subject, they will be along to advise you correctly.

Another vote for removing the boat anchor. That thing is crazy heavy. I thought I was wasting my money when I got the Akras, until I felt the weight of that stupid thing, Ridiculous!!!!

My dealer said that if you have the akras on and mapped that you burn out the cat if you attempt to run the stock cans. Stick with the akra and removable baffles imho.
