Canadian Rockies ride

Last month I went for a ride in the Canadian Rockies..down to Calgary then up to Banff and up the Icefield Parkway to Jasper Park (Athabaska Glacier) then back through Rocky Mountain House...10 hour ride..best part (fastest, twistiest) was riding out of the Park to Rocky MH....on the Icefield Parkway itself between Banff and Jasper there are too many low speed obstacles: Yanks in huge RVs and tour groups on rented Harleys (you can actually hear the tour leader talking on the individual radios as they slowly potato-potato along)...last picture is of a big grizzly bear right beside the road.

Elevation at the glacier was about 3000 meters...when I stopped I noticed that the bike wouldn't idle all that well up there. It wouldn't go much below 3000 rpm. 1000 meters lower and it would idle as normal. But I didn't spend much time idling.

Bike looks kinda cool unusual without side panels, never seen this before on a SD.

Nice pics, I wanted to make the run up through there late in the fall less people but some cooler weather (not gonna make it this year),did go to barkervile outside of quesnel some nice twisties( was a hoot in the old vette drove the sh-t out of it )and toured the old gold rush town
mrs and I got pic taken in old fashioned 1800s clothes for the heck of it
I finally took some time off and did a 3 day, 2000km run out west.

We went from Sask. through Calgary, Banff to Golden the first day. Then to Revelstoke and down through Nakusp to New Denver and took 31A to Kaslo (amazing highway), then to Nelson, and stayed in Creston. And finally back through Cranbrook, Fernie, Medicine Hat and then home.

The superduke sure shines in the curves. Nice to have a bike that is so responsive to my inputs. I got lots of compliments on the bike, even from the Harley crowd. Met an SM on the road, but KTM are still a rare commodity on the roads out here.
