Ok I am one of the few that like the look of carbon. had mine on for 2.5yrs or so and its now really starting to look shit. some of the top layer(shine) has faded and it looks like the finish has blown in little places making it look white. anyone got carbon and noticed the finish look shit after time? anything I can do to improve it and bring back the carbon finish. I thought about clear lacquer? not happy with it as the cost of this stuff isn't cheap.
You can sand it down and reapply a clear as long as its just for show.

Heat and the sun will destroy the finish on any panel. You can try backing it with aluminium tape and that should keep the heat off of it better.
Not sure how to bring it back to original look, but I've found keeping it clean and waxed really prolongs the life...
found a site called carbon mod.com going to email them and ask if I can re coat the carbon with resin that they sell. not sure it really needs to be re coated cos its just the shine its lost. beginning to think a light sand and lacquer will do the job but I am not brave enough to try it.
